THE KORAN AND THE HADITH
We are currently living in the Koranic dispensation which means that the Koran is our authoritative Guide as the Torah was during the dispensation of National Israel. Therefore all other writings that are outside of the Koran must be judged in relation to the Koran. In regards to the Hadith, Imams such as Bukhari and Muslim took that task of judgment and divided the hadiths into those that are Strongly supported (Sahih), those that are moderately supported and those that are weak. This is not to mention those that were outwardly condemned as false.
The Koran is the only pure, uncorrupted and divine revelation actively functioning and mandated for this dispensation and the Prophet Muhammad is the Seal of the Prophets. This means that although the judgment of men like Bukhari and Muslim may be inspired by Allah and THEORETICALLY they COULD POSSIBLY be 100% correct in their judgment they would still be subject to error as their judgment does not have infallible status.
The status of being potentially fallible in comparison to that which is infallible is due to its status as a time relevant and uncorrupted Divine Revelation. This is what separates the Koran from all other writings including the Hadith.
