Discovering The True Synodic Calendar
of The Israelites(A Lunar Calendar of Purification)
A true lunar calendar is synchronized with the exact time in which it takes the moon to fully orbit the earth and return to the same exact location in relation to the earth that it was at the beginning of the previous month. This is known as a Synodic Orbit or a Synodic month.
The completion of a full Synodic orbit introduces the New Moon which marks the beginning of a new lunar month. It takes the moon exactly 29.6 days to orbit the earth. This 29.6 day cycle is known as a Synodic month. Since it is impossible to observe a half of a day(.6) in any given month, the true lunar calendar has 6, 29 day months and 6, 30 day months which averages the necessary 29.5 days needed to complete a Synodic month. The 1st,3rd,5th,7th,9th,&11th months are 30 day months, while the 2nd,4th,6th,8th,10th & 12th months are 29 days.
With the average of the alternating 30 and 29 day calendar months being 29.5 days, each month actually falls short .1 or 1/10th of a day from the true Synodic orbit which is 29.6 days. At the end of the year the calendar would be 1.2(12x.1) days short. In order to adjust the calendar to the actual Synodic orbit a 5 year rotating leap cycle is added.
30TH DAY ADDED TO THE 10 MONTH (1ST LEAP YEAR)
In the FIRST YEAR a 30TH DAY is added to the normal 29 day month of the TENTH MONTH. Since the calendar is losing .1 or 1/10th of a day each month ,by the end of the TENTH MONTH it has lost an entire day. With the 30th day addition the calendar is now perfectly aligned with the Synodic Orbit at the completion of the TENTH MONTH.
30TH DAY ADDED TO THE 8TH MONTH(2ND LEAP YEAR)
The .1 or 1/10th of a day loss in the 11th and 12th months of the first year means that the SECOND YEAR will begin with a .2 day lacking in relation to the perfected timing of the Synodic Orbit. Therefore, in the SECOND YEAR the calendar will lose a full day upon completion of the EIGHTH MONTH which is the .2 days lost from the previous year plus the .8 days lost at the end of 8 months. In response, in the SECOND YEAR a 30TH DAY is added to the EIGHTH MONTH.
30TH DAY ADDED TO THE 6TH MONTH(3RD LEAP YEAR)
30TH DAY ADDED TO THE 4TH MONTH(4TH LEAP YEAR)
30TH DAY ADDED TO THE 2ND & 12TH MONTH(5TH LEAP YEAR)
However the remaining 8 months from the fourth year creates a minus .8 day carry over into the FIFTH and FINAL YEAR of the rotating leap year cycle. This means that by the completion of the SECOND MONTH the calendar will have lost a full day in relation to the natural timing of the Synodic orbit. This is the accumulated total of the minus .8 carry over from the previous year plus the.2 loss from the first two months in the FIFTH YEAR of the cycle. To neutralize the imbalance a 30TH DAY is added to the normal 29 days of the SECOND MONTH.
The remaining 10 months in the year will cause a full day loss(10x.1) upon completion of the FIFTH and FINAL YEAR. In response a 30TH DAY is added to the normal 29 days of the TWELFTH and FINAL MONTH of the FIFTH YEAR.This then completes the 5 year cycle which now allows the cycle to start all over again.
A true Lunar Calendar can only have 12 months. This is a Divine decree:
' Surely the number of months with Allah is 12 months in Allah's ordinance since the day when He created the heavens and the earth.'
