THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD WAS AN ISHMAELITE:
(It can be proven in the Holy Koran)
DEBUNKING THE CLAIM THAT THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD WAS AN ISRAELITE:
In recent years there have been some misguided individuals who have begun to claim that the Prophet Muhammad was an Israelite and not an Ishmaelite. They further claim that when the Koran refers to the Prophet Muhammad as being raised up from AMONG the descendants of Ishmael and Abraham that the word AMONG is really referring to one who is not a descendant but simply one who is living AMONG them.
Through a comparative study of Koranic Ayats(verses) it will be come clear that the Koranic reference to a Prophet from AMONG the descendants of Ishmael and Abraham does indeed refer to a chosen one from AMONG his biological descendant and NOT an outsider who is living AMONG them.
THE PRAYERS OF ABRAHAM AND ISHMAEL IN RESTORING THE KAABA:
And when Ibrahim and Ismail raised the foundations of the House: Our Lord! accept from us; surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing:Our Lord! and make us both submissive to Thee and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.
Our Lord! and RAISE UP IN THEM AN APOSTLE FROM AMONG THEM who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.
There is no dispute that the APOSTLE FROM AMONG THEM was to manifest as the Prophet Muhammad. This is made clear in (2:151). The dispute is whether the usage of AMONG you refers to the biological descendants of Ishmael or an Israelite who is living AMONG them
Even as We have sent AMONG you a A MESSENGER FROM AMONG YOU who recites to you Our communications and purifies you and teaches you the Book and the wisdom and teaches you that which you did not know.
When we compare the verses mentioned above which refers to a Prophet from AMONG the offspring of Ishmael to the following verse which refers to a righteous witness from from AMONG the Children of Israel it then becomes clear that the common application and usage of the word AMONG in both cases refers to the actual biological descendants.
Say: Have you considered if it is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, and A WITNESS FROM AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL has borne witness of one like it, so he believed, while you are big with pride; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
There is no question that the above mentioned verse refers to Abdallah Ibn Salaam who is an acknowledged descendant of the Prophet Joseph and of whom was the first Israelite to accept the Prophet Muhammad upon his glorious entry into Medina. In fact it is so clear that the WITNESS FROM AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL refers to the Israelite Abdallah Ibn Salaam that the Mushkin translation actually places his name in parenthesis :
MUHSIN KHAN - TRANSLATION
Say: "Tell me! If this (Quran) is from Allah, and you deny it, and A WITNESS FROM AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL(ABDULLAH BIN SALAAM) testifies that this Quran is from Allah [like the Taurat (Torah)], so he believed (embraced Islam) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doing).
In summary this comparative study of the above mentioned Koranic verses clearly proves that both the Prophet raised up from AMONG the descendants of Ishmael and the WITNESS from AMONG the Children of Israel are indeed biological descendants of Ishmael and Israel respectively.
