THE KORAN AND CRUCIFIXION:
(THE CURSED TREE IS THE CROSS)
The Holy Koran is very clear in revealing the fact that Jesus did not physically die on the cross. However among Muslims there are those who believe that Judas was alternatively crucified and in that regard was mistaken for Jesus. Then there are other Muslims who believe that Jesus was impaled on the Cross but by some elusive and deceptive means avoided being killed. This then caused many to mistakenly believe that Jesus was indeed killed at crucifixion. An intricate and unique theological understanding of this is embraced by the Ismailis who are also known as 7er Shia.
However the most popularized and commonly taught understanding of Jesus surviving crucifixion is that which in academic circles is known as the Swoon Theory. Proponents of this theology include the respected Sunni Scholar Ahmad Deedat ,and the Ismaili author Akbarally Meherally, It is accepted by the Nation of Islam and is a fundamental teaching of the Ahmadiyya Movement. However as Akbarally Meherally correctly stated embracing this particular theology in NO WAY makes one an Ahmadiyya:
REDISCOVERING THE REALITIES OF JESUS - AKBARALLY MEHERALLY PAGES 98-99
" The interpretation or understanding of the revealed text of the Quran by any Muslim on this particular issue of the Crucifixion of Jesus , if they do happen to concur with that of the followers of the Ahmadiyya Sect, does not in any way or form deduce or infer that that person has left the mainstream of Islam and accepted the teachings and beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Sect and or has joined that community. To join the community of the Ahmadiyya Sect one has to accept Mirza Ghulam Ahmed as the Prophet of Allah, which one has not.
CRUCIFIXION SUBSTITUTION OR SURVIVAL ARE THE ONLY POSSIBILITIES ACCORDING TO THE KORANIC TEXT:
As mentioned above the Koran is very clear in regards to the fact that Jesus was Not Killed by Crucifixion or by any other means. However the Koran states that it only APPEARED SO. The latter part has been controversially interpreted as the one being killed by crucifixion
APPEARED AS JESUS or at Crucifixion it APPEARED AS THOUGH JESUS WAS KILLED WHEN IN FACT HE WAS STILL ALIVE.
And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so ...
THE FLAW WITH SUBSTITUTION:
The Substitution interpretation is that which is flawed. Those who advocate substitution believe that Judas was crucified and not Jesus. The problem is that Judas killed himself by hanging himself on a Tree. This lone suicidal act could not possibly be confused with a Court Ordered Crucifixion and execution that was carried out by the Roman Government. An isolated suicide could not result in others boasting that they killed the Messiah when that individual killed himself. This would in fact negate the Koranic verse which states that they boastfully claimed to have killed the Messiah.
So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
Judas body was obviously left out in the field and eventually exploded as part of the putrefaction process of a dead body in which the build up of intestinal bacteria causes the body to explode:
With the payment he received for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.
In the gruesome manner in which Judas' corpse exploded it could never be confused with the body of Jesus which was respectfully and carefully taken down at the request of Joseph of Arimathea.
THE CRUCIFIXION AND THE CURSED TREE
The Wooden Cross which was used for execution was also referred to as a Cursed Tree. Therefore if one was crucified it would be commonly stated that the individual was hung on a tree for the crucifixion was made from the wood of a dead tree.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
THE KORAN AND THE CURSED TREE
(THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW THE CURSED TREE IN A VISION IN WHICH HE JOURNEYED TO JERUSALEM)
The Holy Koran refers to the Cursed Tree as Zaqqum. During the Journey of Isra in which the Prophet Muhammad traveled to Jerusalem he was shown the vision of the Cross being the Crucifixion of Jesus which was described as the Cursed Tree.
And when We said to you: Surely your Lord encompasses men; and We did not make the VISION WHICH WE SHOWED YOU but a trial for men and the CURSED TREE in the Koran as well;
JESUS SURVIVED CRUCIFIXION:
THE SIGN OF JONAH:
Jesus let us know that there would only be one sign of the crucifixion which was the sign of Jonah:
He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
JONAH DID NOT DIE DURING HIS THREE DAY ENCOUNTER WITH DEATH AND NEITHER DID JESUS.
JONAH VISITED THE REALM OF THE DEAD IN A LIVING STATE AND SO DID JESUS:
He said: "In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.
For you will not abandon my soul to Hades or allow your Holy One to experience decay.
RESURRECTING FROM HADES WAS NOT THE RESURRECTION OF A DEAD BODY BUT A RESURRECTION OF THE SPIRIT.
Foreseeing this, David spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that He was not abandoned to Hades, nor did His body see decay.
