ASHURA AND HOSSEIN THE TWO SIGNS LEADING TO THE RESTORATION OF ISRAEL
THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD AND THE TWO SIGNS CONCERNING ISRAELITE REDEMPTION : (HOSSEIN AND ASHURA)
When the Prophet Muhammad arrived in Medina in what is known as the Hijra he received two signs concerning the Israelite redemption. These two signs were Hossein and Ashura.
THE SIGN OF HOSSEIN
The first Israelite to accept the Prophet Muhammad upon his glorious entry into Medina was a descendant of the Prophet Joseph named HOSSEIN IBN SALAAM. In accepting the Prophet Muhammad Hossein Ibn Salaam not only paved the way for Israelite redemption but fulfilled the role of Moshiach Ben Yosef as well.
THE SIGN OF ASHURA
Upon arriving in Medina, The Prophet Muhammad noticed the Israelites observing a sacred fast known as Ashura. When he asked them as to why they were fasting they responded by stating that they were fasting in commemoration of the Prophet Moses delivering the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. The Prophet Muhammad not only approved of the Israelites fasting on Ashura but he declared the fast to be a mandatory obligation incumbent upon all Muslims. In this regard Ashura became the second sign for Israelite restoration.
THE COVERING PLACED UPON THE SIGNS OF HOSSEIN AND ASHURA
In accordance with divine decree, the Prophet Muhammad would place a sacred covering over the signs of Hossein and Ashura until the appointed time of redemption when the two signs would reemerge to prominence.
COVERING THE SIGN OF HOSSEIN
The Prophet Muhammad would change the name of Hossein Ibn Salaam to that of Abdallah Ibn Salaam and thus the sign of Hossein now had a sacred covering or seal.
COVERING THE SIGN OF ASHURA
When the Prophet Muhammad introduced the obligation of the month long Ramadzan Fast he declared that Ashura was no longer mandatory. With this understanding the obligation of Ramadzan now placed a covering or sacred seal over the sign of Ashura.
When the Prophet Muhammad's Grandson Imam Hossein was killed on Ashura it marked the beginning of Israelite restoration as the signs of HOSSEIN and ASHURA now returned to prominence.
.ASHURA THE DAY OF THE PASSOVER LAMB
Ashura which means " Ten " is the 10th day of the 1st month being the day in which the Passover Lamb was selected.
This month shall be unto you the Beginning of Months: it shall be the First month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying , In the Tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
When Imam Hossein was killed on Ashura he became the Passover Lamb and a sign of the beginning of Israelite redemption.
