THE KARAITE ISRAEL MOSQUE OF ASCENSION
AND THE TEMPLE OF KEDAR MINISTRIES
(The Original Kedar-Rite of the Karaim)
FACING MOUNT MORIAH
(THE PRAYER DIRECTION FOR ASCENSION)
Under the guidance and authority of the Almighty Creator King Solomon declared the Temple he built on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem as the Qiblah or direction from which the Israelites and all true believers should face while in prayer.
II CHRONICLES 6:34-35
If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they PRAY UNTO THEE TOWARD THIS CITY which thou hast chosen, AND THE HOUSE which I have built for thy name; Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
II CHRONICLES 6:32-33
"Also concerning the foreigner who is not from Your people Israel, when he comes from a far country for Your great name's sake and Your mighty hand and Your outstretched arm, when they come and PRAY TOWARD THIS HOUSE, then hear from heaven, from Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name, and fear You as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by Your name.…
It was according to this understanding that for the first 16 or 17 months the Prophet Muhammad and his followers originally prayed facing Jerusalem:
SAHIH MUSLIM BOOK 5 MOSQUES AND THE PLACES OF WORSHIP CHAPTER 2 CHANGE OF QIBLA FROM BEYT UL-MAQDIS TO THE KA'BA:
We prayed with the Messenger of Allah with our faces towards Beyt Maqdis(Jerusalem) for 16 or 17 months then we were made to change our direction towards the Kaba(Mecca)
The reason that the prayer direction changed from Jerusalem to Mecca was to symbolize the shift from the authority of the chosen Israelite nation which was now in exile to that of the functioning and exemplary Ishmaelite nation. This meant that the Ishmaelites were now to serve as a Medium Nation and example from which the world could now be welcomed into the Faith of Abraham. It was also a way of distinguishing those who accept the Prophet Muhammad.
And thus We have made you a MEDIUM (just) NATION that you may be the bearers of witness to the people and (that) the Messenger may be a bearer of witness to you; and We did not make that which you would have to be the qiblah but that We might DISTINGUISH HIM WHO FOLLOWS THE MESSENGER from him who turns back upon his heels,
THE TWO REASONS THE PRAYER DIRECTION CHANGED:
1. To establish the Ishmaelites as a medium nation
2. To distinguish those who accept the Prophet Muhammad.
THE KORAN ALLOWS THE ISRAELITES TO FACE JERUSALEM:
The Prophet Muhammad allowed the Israelite believers to continue to face Jerusalem if by doing so they met the 2 conditions mentioned above.
If the Israelites acknowledged that their nation was in a state of subjugation under the authority of the Ishmaelites then they fulfilled the role of recognizing Ishmael as the Medium nation:
OUT OF THOSE WHO ARE GIVEN THE BOOK(ISRAELITES),UNTIL THEY PAY THE TAX IN ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF SUPERIORITY AND THEY ARE IN A STATE OF SUBJECTION
In honor of the Prophet Muhammad's purifying ascension of Al-Isra(Israel), the Caliph Omar built what with later renovations became known as the Dome of the Rock Mosque or Beyt Maqdis. The latter being the same as the Hebrew Beyt Migdash referring to the Holy Temple. Therefore through the Prophet Muhammad's heavenly ascension the Holy Temple(Beyt Maqdis/Beyt Migdash) was restored. It was an Israelite Priest and companion of the Caliph named Kab Al-Ahbar who showed him the precise location from whence the Prophet Muhammad ascended. This was the exact spot where the Holy of Holies was maintained and preserved during the time of the Solomonic Temple.
THE FIRST CONDITION FOR FACING JERUSALEM IN PRAYER:
(Recognizing the Prophet Muhammad in relation to Jerusalem)
When the Prophet Muhammad went on the Midnight journey of Al-Isra he traveled from the Kaba in Mecca to the Holiest site of the Israelites in Jerusalem from there he ascended beyond the 7th heaven. With his journey and heavenly ascension he unified Mecca and Jerusalem and placed both sites under his Prophetic authority.
Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque(MECCA) to the remote mosque(JERUSALEM) of which We have blessed the precincts, so that We may show to him some of Our signs; surely He is the Hearing, the Seeing. And We gave Musa the Book and made it a guidance to the children of Israel, saying: Do not take a protector besides Me;
