(The Original Kedar-Rite of the Karaim)
CREMATE BEFORE BURYING
CREMATION BEFORE BURIAL IT IS THE NATURAL AND MOST SACRED WAY IN DISPOSING A CORPSE
Many Muslims believe that the verse in the Koran which states that a crow showed Cain how to bury Abel is that which legitimizes burial of a corpse as being a requirement of all Muslims. However the bird helping Cain to bury the body of his murdered brother was only an allegory in stressing the fact that Cain was trying to conceal the murder. This is why the Bible states that the Lord confronted Cain with the following: " The Voice of thy brother's blood crieth from the ground. " The Unclean crow is simply a symbol of death.
Then Allah sent a crow digging up the earth so that he might show him how he should cover the dead body of his brother. He said: Woe me! do I lack the strength that I should be like this crow and cover the dead body of my brother? So he became of those who regret.
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
In the writings of Josephus, Tacitus states that the Jews learned the custom of burial from the Egyptians:
HISTORY OF THE JEWS BOOK 5
They derive their custom of burying, instead of burning their dead from the Egyptians, they also have the same care of the dead with them.
The Egyptians stood in opposition to God. Their ways were not of God. This why the Israelites were commanded not to follow their ways nor that of the Canaanites.
Burial is not mentioned in the Bible until after Abraham comes in contact with the Egyptians and the Canaanites.
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, I am the Lord your God. You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes.
When the Israelites established their own independent kingdom the first King of Israel upon his death was cremated.
I SAMUEL 30:11-13
And when the inhabitants of Jabesh gilead heard of that which the Philistines had done to Saul; All the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Bethshan, and came to Jabesh, and BURNT THEM THERE. And they took their bones, and buried them under a tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
Graves were to only consist of the cremated ashes and bone particles which were customarily buried under a tree. It was from this practice that the funerary custom of the Priest stating from ashes to ashes and dust to dust originated. The Israelite Priests were not allowed to defile themselves by touching a dead corpse because they are considered unclean. However the ashes and bone particle remains are purified through cremation and thus the Priest could bury the ashes.
The Koran verifies that it is the cremated remains which are actually buried referring to them as bones and decayed particles
And they say: What! when we shall have become bones and decayed particles, shall we then certainly be raised up, being a new creation?
This is their retribution because they disbelieved in Our communications and said What! when we shall have become bones and decayed particles, shall we then indeed be raised up into a new creation?
Burial of a corpse is unclean and unnatural. It takes away millions and millions of fertile acres of land that could be used to feed the living. Coffins destroy the environment because they are not bio-degradable. Grave markers should only be that which already exists such as trees, flowers or grass. Tombstones are graven images. This is why there is so much trouble with Muslims and Jews worshiping at grave sites.
Cremation is the most environmental friendly way to respectfully dispose of a corpse. During times of mass sickness and plagues cremation is a most necessary way of avoiding the spread of disease. Therefore it is the way of cleanliness which is the way of the Koran.
Therefore as Israelites being acceptable to God is our main concern. Cremation is the PURIFYING way of the Lord. This is why when Angels appear in bodily/visible form they depart in a purifying flame:
For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
ELIJAH THE PROPHET ALSO ASCENDED IN THE FIRE OF PURIFICATION
II KINGS 2:11
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
The body should go through the flaming fire of purification
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
THE TRUE BELIEVERS BURN AND PURIFY THE PHYSICAL BODY SO THAT THE SOUL MAY LIVE, WHILE THE FAITHLESS PRESERVE, EMBALM AND ENSHRINE THE BODY BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO LET GO OF THE DEAD. THEREFORE THE SOUL SHALL BURN INSTEAD OF THE BODY.
